Welcome to 86 Transport (Vietnam) Website
86 Transport Platoon arrived in Vietnam in January 1967 and departed in March 1972. Approximately 500 members served in Vietnam during those years.
The platoon was based at Vung Tau in the Phuoc Tuy Province and provided transport services to all facets of the Australian Army sphere of responsibilities.
This took the form of troop movements, supply and ammunition transportation, dump trucks, semi trailers, gunjeeps and busses.
This website is dedicated to those 86 Transport Platoon Members and to pay tribute to those that are no longer with us.
